Desert Oasis

I just returned from two weeks away. I was in Salalah, Oman with 3 Bahraini MBB's. We went to do some training and ended up not only learning a lot about EV, but building some sweet relationships. The guys we took from here are young in there faith. It was exciting to see them get excited. In the mornings we had training sessions and lunch at the houses we were staying at. In the afternoons we would wander around Salalah and see all the beauty it had to offer. At night we would go the the summer festival that was going on and talk with M's who were there with their families.
Salalah is part of the Arabia Felix, or Happy Arabia. As you look at these photos you can see why. Here are a few highlights of our trip:

1. Magnetic mountain - on the way towards Mirbat. We stop the car on a slope, put it in neutral and got out. The car didn't move an inch. It was so weird. Carrie and I both said that we felt weighed down there. While we were there we saw a lot of Frankincense trees – Salalah is famous for.

2. The cliffs on the coast of Salalah are beautiful. On the Indian Ocean you can see the power the water as it crashes into the cliffs.

3. Wadi Darbat – waterfalls, mountains, caves, wildlife.

4. The tomb of Job is set overlooking the town of Salalah. On Jable Ittin. It is in a Mosque and Muslim Pilgrims travel there to ask for blessings.

5. Mughsail Beach – giant blowholes. Outlines the coast of Salalah.

While we were sightseeing our task never ceased. above you can see a group of women who caught our attention and below is one of our team sharing with two youth after they asked if we were Muslim or Christian.
